Summer Workshop and Retreat at Five Element Yoga + Thai Massage

Ayurvedic Workshop:

Tuesday June 1st, 6-9pm

Summer Retreat:

Saturday June 5th, 11am-1pm

Cost for both: 60$

(10$ donation requested for those only attending the Saturday retreat)

On Tuesday June 1st, Juliet will be offering instruction on Ayurvedic sadhana (practice) for the summer season. By practicing the profound wisdom of Ayurveda we come into harmony with the greater cycles and forces of life. When we bring mindfulness and intention to our daily living, we cultivate a deeper connection to the body and to all of life.  This in turns allows us to experience life in a more profound way and awakens our inner healing potential.

Summer is pitta season. We will discuss the manifestations of this fiery dosha on all levels of the self: physical, mental and emotional. We will also explore ways to care for ourselves that bring balance to this dosha and help us to move into deeper harmony with our own individual path and with cosmic rhythms. Diet, routine, self-care (including herbs and essential oils), breath-balancing, meditation and yoga practices will be discussed. Ayurvedic refreshments and teas will be provided.

Even if you have attended similar workshops in the past, you will benefit from attending this session. New information is always unfolding as we move more deeply into this work.

On Saturday June 5th we will be spending time practicing the sadhanas introduced in the Tuesday session including breath-balancing, meditation and Vedic chanting. This will be a time of retreat to care for ourselves and align with the Inner Self. According to the ancients of Ayurveda, taking time to retreat and restore ourselves is needed to support the health of our bodies and psyches as we transition from one season to the next. Time set aside for this purpose helps us to remove ourselves, briefly, from the stream of humanity and place ourselves in the stream of healing and consciousness. Ayurvedic refreshments and teas will be provided.

The cost for both sessions is 60$. For those just wishing to attend the Saturday retreat a 10$ donation is requested.
