Living Yoga Classes

Yoga is more than just stretching or a fitness routine. This statement has been uttered so often it is almost cliché. However, the opportunity to study the wholeness of yoga is rare, often relegated only to intensive courses of study or retreats that are set outside the stream of our normal lives.
The key to successfully creating integration in our lives comes from studying in the context of life, not away from it. Living a life of awareness is a challenge. It requires us to diligently open an inner ear to hear the yearnings of the soul and allow ourselves to move to that rythym rather than the flow of the mainstream world.
The Living Yoga Classes offered at Five Element Studio are one way to consistently integrate the principles of Yoga and Ayurveda into daily life. Each month this two-hour class will focus on studying a piece of Yogic wisdom and learning about the application of that wisdom in a real way. In observation of the reality that we are multidimensional beings, we will study how to access the wisdom of:
  • The physical body (anamayakosha)
  • The breath body (pranamayakosha)
  • The mental/emotional body (manamayakosha)
  • The wisdom body (vijnamayakosha)
  • The bliss body (anandamayakosha)
 
The first class is being offered on Saturday, February 13th. In this class we will look specifically at care of the body through the seasons. The class will include:
  • Live neti pot demonstration
  • Making your own Ayurvedic body scrub
  • The art of self-oil massage
  • Understanding skincare product labels
  • Sense organ cleansing to promote clarity and health
